Lab results will be more accurate if you fast for eight to ten hours
prior to the test. You may drink water, black coffee or plain
iced tea in the hours preceding your test without adversely
affecting the results. Take all prescribed medications the day
of the test, with the exception of oral diabetes medication or
insulin. If you are diabetic, follow sick day instructions from your
medical provider. Refrain from wearing powder or lotion on
your chest, trunk or legs on the day of the exam.
