Schweiger Vineyards
About Schweiger Vineyards
Fred Schweiger purchased his first 8 acres in 1960 for $250 an acre. Inspiration to plant the “King” and “Queen” of vines begins by the late 1970s. During the 1980s, Schweiger fruit was sought by premium wineries like Joe Cafaro, ZD, Newton and Stags Leap Winery.
In 1994, Schweiger’s son, Andy—a UC Davis grad—came on board as the winemaker. Today, all 35 acres of the sustainably-farmed fruit is estate bottled for the Schweiger Vineyards label. Along with noble varietals of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, micro-blocks of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot and Petite Syrah are farmed for a proprietary blend.
Diana Schweiger Isdahl, V.P. Sales
Two weeks after graduation from Chico State Diana began her professional career at Heublein working as a chain merchandiser in Northern California. From there she was promoted into other positions and then moved onto working in sales for Paterno Imports, Rosemount Estate and most recently, Southcorp Wines. On September 2, 2003, Diana came to work for the family winery full time.
In addition to Diana's professional life, she is married to long-time family friend Andy Isdahl and they have a daughter Kristina and a son Brent.
They now live in the home of Diana's Grandparents Tony and Theresa Schweiger, the original building of the Schweiger estate. Diana and Andy are avid sports participants and especially enjoy spending time on the lake waterskiing.
